Frequently Asked Questions
Here's a selection of Frequently Asked Questions and suggestions on how to make the most out of your break with us!

What do I need to bring with me?
All our pods contain many of the things you might have had to take camping, leaving you a bit more space in the car! You can check out your chosen pod's page for a list of what's included. But for suggestions on what else to bring? See below:
The pods include sun loungers and outdoor seating so no need for camp chairs, unless you prefer them.
We provide a bath towel per person, but should you want extra for the hot tub or beach, then it would be worth packing some beach towels.
For cooking, you've got a two burner gas stove, sink, a saucepan, a frying pan, and general kitchen utensils. We don't provide things like salt, pepper or cooking oil. So along with whatever food you're bringing along, remember the condiments. We do however have you covered for washing up, with dishwashing liquid next to your sink.
In the height of summer, we would also recommend an insect repellent. We are constantly improving the planting scheme with repelling plants like lavender & rosemary, but it is a woodland, and does have water habitats close by, so for those benefits it does also mean flying insects can be a thing in the warmer months.
The coppice is sparsely lit to encourage wildlife, so for getting about at night, we'd recommend a torch, or at least a torch enabled smartphone.

Is there parking next to the pod?
No, As this is an ancient woodland we couldn't and wouldn't want to put cars in amongst the trees. However we have a small gravel carpark suitable for 3 or 4 cars just 50 metres away next to the driveway entrance. We can even fit long wheelbase vans for those who use their work vehicles as a daily driver. 1 car is allowed per booking unless by special arrangement.

Can I bring my dog?
No, Emlyn’s Coppice is a strictly pet-free site. While we love dogs, our pods are not designed to safely house pets, and our private outdoor spaces are not securely fenced.
Furthermore, we actively manage the Coppice to encourage local wildlife, including ground-nesting birds that would be easily disturbed by four-legged visitors. To keep our wildlife safe and ensure the tranquility of the site, we ask that you leave your furry friends at home.

Can I check in/out early/late?
Early Check-in: Because we completely empty, sanitize, and refill our wood-fired hot tubs for every single stay, our housekeeping team has a very tight 4-hour window to get everything pristine for you. For this reason, we cannot accommodate early check-ins, and arrival is from 4:00 PM onwards. Late Check-out: If you’d like to extend your stay past our usual 11:30 AM check-out time, we do offer a late check-out option for a small fee! This must be added at the time of booking. Because of our thorough cleaning process, we can only offer two late check-outs per day, so it is strictly first-come, first-served. Late Arrival: Arriving late in the evening is no problem at all, as we use a self-check-in system. We will send you arrival instructions before you get here.

Can we play music or have parties?
To protect the tranquil atmosphere of the woodland and ensure all our guests enjoy a peaceful getaway, we have a strict no-noise policy after 10:00 PM. Amplified music or speakers are not permitted outside at any time. Emlyn’s Coppice is designed for quiet relaxation, listening to the wildlife, and enjoying the crackle of the fire.

How long do the wood-fired hot tubs take to heat up?
From scratch, it typically takes about 2 to 3 hours to get the water to that perfect, blissful temperature, depending on the time of year.
Once you arrive, managing the fire is easy, and we provide clear instructions in your pod. Part of the charm of an Ofuro tub is tending the fire, pouring a drink, and watching the temperature rise. On warmer days or if the tub has been recently heated, it will reach temperature much faster!

Does the hot tub have bubbles?
No, and entirely by design! Our hot tubs are traditional, wood-fired Ofuro-style soaking tubs. This means they focus on deep, peaceful relaxation rather than noisy bubble jets. We chose this style because the constant hum of a plastic spa pool can disturb the local wildlife and your glamping neighbors late at night. We want Emlyn's Coppice to be a peaceful sanctuary. For us, true paradise is sinking into a deep, hot pool to stargaze, with the faint smell of wood smoke in the air, while listening to the sounds of the woods

Do you provide firewood?
We certainly do. To welcome you to the Coppice, your stay includes a complimentary bag of firewood and a half-bag of kindling to get your Ofuro tub nice and toasty.
If you run out, we have plenty of extra kiln-dried logs available to purchase on-site, so there's no need to heavy-load your car! Top-up wood is also available at the local garage just down the road.

Are there shops nearby?
Yes, although we are rural, just over 2 miles away is Parc Prestatyn and Prestatyn high street. There is everything from Marks & Spencer, Tesco's, & Boots, to boutique fashion shops or even the Deli on the hill. So with us you get the best of both worlds. There's also a great selection of cafes and restaurants to complete your shopping trip.

Is there a TV?
No, At the end of the day we are a glamorous camping experience. We want you to enjoy the great outdoors, the wildlife, the flora. Have camp fires and hot tubs and indulge in the ambience. However, we realise this isn't for everyone, and sometimes you just want something on in the background, so we've made sure there is decent WiFi (around 60-90mbps) available in the pod and surroundings so you can bring your own laptop or tablet and stream your own content.

Do you have a Sauna?
Yes, Our exclusive hand built wood fired Finnish Sauna is for the exclusive use of bookings in our Orme spa glamping pod.

Is there a Microwave?
