Frequently Asked Questions

Here's a selection of Frequently Asked Questions and suggestions on how to make the most out of your break with us!

What do I need to bring with me?

All our pods contain many of the things you might have had to take camping, leaving you a bit more space in the car! You can check out your chosen pod's page for a list of what's included.

But for suggestions on what else to bring? See below:

  • The pods include sun loungers but if you want to sit outside we either provide indoor/outdoor dining chairs (Offa & Ayr) or a picnic table (Orme), but should you want somewhere comfier, maybe think about bringing some camp chairs.

  • We provide a bath towel per person, but should you want extra for the hot tub or beach, then it would be worth packing some beach towels.

  • For cooking, you've got a two burner gas stove, sink, a saucepan, a frying pan, and general kitchen utensils. We don't provide things like salt, pepper or cooking oil. So along with whatever food you're bringing along, remember the condiments. We do however have you covered for washing up, with a dishwashing liquid next to your sink.

  • In the height of summer, we would also recommend an insect repellent. We are constantly improving the planting scheme with repelling plants like lavender & rosemary, but it is a woodland, and does have water habitats close by, so for those benefits it does also mean flying insects can be a thing in the warmer months.

  • The coppice is sparsely lit to encourage wildlife, so for getting about at night, we'd recommend a torch, or at least a torch enabled smartphone.

Can I bring my dog?

Sadly no, the pods are not suitable to safely house pets, and the private areas are not securely fenced. We encourage lots of wildlife in the coppice and sadly dogs may disturb many of the ground nesting birds.

Do you provide firewood?

We provide one free bag of firewood and one half bag of kindling, but after that, you could either bring some with you, or it can be purchased at our local garage/shop.

Is there parking next to the pod?

In a word, no! As this is an ancient woodland we couldn't and wouldn't want to put cars in amongst the trees. However we have a small gravel carpark suitable for 3 or 4 cars just 50 metres away next to the driveway entrance. We can even fit long wheelbase vans for those who use their work vehicles as a daily driver.

Are there shops nearby?

We are VERY rural! However, just over 2 miles away is Parc Prestatyn and Prestatyn high street. There is everything from Marks & Spencer, Tesco's, & Boots, to boutique fashion shops or even the Deli on the hill. So with us you get the best of both worlds. There's also a great selection of cafes and restaurants to complete your shopping trip.

Can I check in/out early/late?

Our housekeeping team are extremely busy with a number of properties and we sadly can't guarantee an early check in, we have just 4 hours to clean all the pods empty the hot tubs, sanitise them and refill them. So the check in is always at earliest 4 pm. If you'd like to check out beyond our usual time of 11.30 am this can be arranged for a small fee and must be booked as an option at the time of booking. This is also first come first served as we can only accommodate 2 late checkouts at a time.

Does the hot tub have bubbles?

Our hot tubs are exactly that, "Hot tubs", not Spa pools or what you may think of as a Jacuzzi. This means they dont have bubble jets. We chose this, as the noise from a spa pool can disturb wildlife or even your pod neighbours late at night. We wanted Emlyn's Coppice to be a peaceful sanctuary, and relaxing in a deep pool, stargazing, with the faint smell of wood smoke in the air, whilst listening to the wildlife is our idea of paradise.

IS there a TV?

Short answer? No! At the end of the day we are a glamorous camping experience. We want you to enjoy the great outdoors, the wildlife, the flora. Have camp fires and hot tubs and indulge in the ambience. However, we realise this isn't for everyone, and sometimes you just want something on in the background, so we've made sure there is decent wifi (around 80-90mbps) available in the pod and surroundings so you can bring your own laptop or tablet and stream your own content.
